2007 “BadBoy Vettes” Corvette C6R #4 (1:18)
Created specifically for the final race of the 2007 ALMS season this unique one-off “Badboy Vettes” livery was Unveiled on October 18, 2007 at the Badboy Vettes kickoff party at the Mucky Duck bar in Monterey, California. The radical new paint scheme featured C6R mascot, “Jake the Skull” as the prominent figure on the cars. So popular was the new paint scheme that many of the fans attending the race that weekend felt that the stylized yellow and black livery should have been adopted as Corvette Racing’s permanent livery.
Although the usual lack of GT1 competitors all but assured another class victory for Corvette Racing, the rivalry between the number 3 and number 4 Corvettes remained as strong as ever. At the green flag pole sitter, Jan Magnussen, driving the number 3 Corvette took the early lead and held onto it until the first pit stop where the number 4 car, driven by “the two Ollies,” Oliver Beretta and Oliver Gavin, scooted past into the lead and eventually won the GT1 class race and in the process scoring their ninth victory of the 2007 season along with the 2007 ALMS GT1 Championship.
