2007 “BadBoy Vettes” Corvette C6R #3 (1:18)
On October 18, 2007 in Monterey, California and just before the final round of the 2007 ALMS race, the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Corvette Racing unveiled a brand new paint scheme to the attendees of the Badboy Vettes Laguna Seca kickoff party at the Mucky Duck bar.

This unique one-off livery, created specifically for the final race of the season, was very popular with the crowd and all weekend long there were comments and nods of approval for the distinctive huge skull-patterned liveries, which had been styled after Corvette Racing unofficial mascot, “Jake the Skull.” Many of the fans even felt that the stylized yellow and black livery should have been adopted as Corvette Racing’s permanent livery.

As usual the lack of GT1 competitors all but assured another class victory for Corvette Racing, however the rivalry between the number 3 and number 4 Corvettes remained as strong as ever. At the green flag pole sitter, Jan Magnussen, driving the number 3 Corvette took the early lead and held onto it until the first pit stop where the number 4 car, driven by “the two Ollies,” Oliver Beretta and Oliver Gavin, scooted past into the lead and eventually the win scoring their ninth victory of the 2007 season and with it the 2007 ALMS GT1 Championship.
